Words are powerful. Slanderous words are destructive. They are like starting fired and pouring gasoline on those fires whereas such fires are not Holy or Righteous. Stay far from slanderous people and do not come into agreement with them.
On another note: How does one conclude what is truly being spirit led or cult led? Are the manifestations truly of God or simply a form of being deceived into believing such? Is the spirit truly moving in these situations or nothing more than a well orchrastated side show? There are many that ask these very same questions. My advise is fruit! Look for the fruit, the fruit of the spirit. Of course a simple application of the word of God is a sure foundation to build from.
